Freedom House began in 1983 with a group of volunteer church members that wanted to alleviate hunger for the homeless and working poor in the Richmond community. Today, volunteers and donors continue to be the backbone of Freedom House. Together with staff, volunteers provide countless opportunities for persons experiencing homelessness to make positive changes in their lives.
Immediate New Volunteer Opportunity
Groups and/or individuals needed to prepare bagged lunches for Saturday and Sunday for the Warming Shelter Program at The Conrad Center located at 1400 Oliver Hill Way. These lunches will feed the homeless that spend the day out of the cold while at the shelter program. This program runs through April 15, 2012. Lunches can be dropped off on Friday if needed. Help us feed lunch to the homeless and working poor!
